Customer Interviews No. 3

"A business concept I have for the city of Gainesville, FL is an all in one entertainment park called Lit-Ville. Mini golf, go karts, trampoline arena, ferris wheel, human slingshots, indoor laser tag, it's going to be super lit. Similar to the Fun Spot in Orlando, FL,  locals and tourists will be able to visit to get away from the day-to-day Gainesville routine of movie nights, shopping, and drinking. Now, residents in Gainesville can no longer say, “there’s nothing to do in Gainesville” because this gives an avenue for students, kids and adults to come relieve stress and release their inner wild side."

1) Describe your interviewing strategy. What questions do you intend on asking? Who are you going to ask? And so on.

    1. What is your reaction?
    2. If this were to exist in Gainesville, would you go?
    3. What would be the largest factor in why you may not go?
    4. How much would you pay for such an attraction?

2) Conduct the interviews. As always, 5 interviews, video recorded.

3) Reflect on what you learned. What did you learn from the interviews? What surprised you the most? What do you expect to change as an outcome of these interviews?

These interviews give something very valuable as an entrepreneur, a business person, and a human being, they gave me perspective. Sometimes it's very easy to miss the little, or even the big things when you tackle things by yourself. However with the aid of others, you can get closer to success. This shows how important collaboration and team work is.

  1. Hey,
I like your idea and have to say that if I were in a town where there were only movie theaters and shopping for fun I would definitely go to your place. The only thing I would suggest is that maybe you try to define the line between adult orientated or kid orientated play. I know Dave N Busters has been successful in blurring this line a bit, but they still tend to lean to the adult business. I think this is important for defining your business because when you need to market your idea you need to define the target audience and then define how you would capture them. It would be very difficult to capture adults when you advertise trampolines for example. Check my blog out here:http://blovejoyblog.blogspot.com

  2. Hey, Kevin!
I really like your idea. I think the name is a little unorthodox, but considering the popularity of memes and social media now, common lingo like "Lit" may even attract more people. I would definitely take part in Lit-Ville myself. I find that I ask myself the question of what to do in Gainesville far too often, but you definitely have a pretty solid idea. My idea tries to tackle the needs of college students through food, but your idea does the same through entertainment/activities. I love it. Keep up the good work!

  3. Hey Kevin,
I think lit-ville would be pretty "lit". The only place I can think of that is similar, would be in Orlando which is too far to travel from here. So lit-ville would definitely be a unique attraction in this area. Since Gainesville has mostly college students I would say that you should have special deals for the college students. Overall, I think it is a great idea. It gives the locals something to do here. Also when we have visitors coming on game days they have more activities to do and have a reason to stay a little longer here in Gainesville.... because it's so lit.

  4. Hey Kevin,
I really like your idea, it sounds like a lot of fun. Gainesville needs more activities to do, and it's surprising that there isn't more to do in a college town.I think that it also has the potential to boost Gainesville's economy even more as long as the park doesn't cost toohttp://triedbloggingendeduponpinterest.blogspot.com/2016/02/round-3-interviews.html much. We're supposed to post the link to our blogs so here's mine
